So our beloved sister Jisha was raped and murdered by some Assamese worker. (Reason: Jisha made fun of him.)
Few days before, some goons sexually harassed the South Indian film actress Bhavana. (Reason: They were in need of 30 lakh rupees).
And then, we have a literate society which is convinced by this explanation and a government whose proclaimed policy is "women security".
#Nirbhaya repeats here in Kochi. Shall we then at least rule out the positive co-relation between education and civilised behaviour? Can we also negate the social status of the victim?

So sorry to hear yet another incident of child abuse from this God's Own Country. Why are we not having the usual hues and cries? Yeah, there is. But some groups are strategically silent including some famous journos and people who portray themselves as activists. Maybe we cannot go to that extent as almost every second person having an account on Facebook is an activist nowadays. Anyhow, I cannot see much profile pictures painted in a particular color or picture frames pleading justice for this kid. Some are only concerned when they can give a 'savarna' explanation to a particular issue. But why would a certain group of people including the accused in this case who voiced their protest in social media after the Kathua rape and murder case now claim that this 10-year-old child was actually enjoying his sexual act? അരിയാഹാരം കഴിക്കുന്നവർക്കൊക്കെ ദഹിച്ചാലും കൊലപാതകത്തിൽ പാർട്ടിക്ക് പങ്കില്ല എന്ന് പറയുന്ന നേതാവിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ അതേപടി വിഴുങ്ങുന്ന കുറച്ച് സഖാക്കൾ ആണ് ഈ പാർട്ടിയുടെ സ്വത്തു. ബാക്കിയെല്ലാം ഫാസ്‌സിസം ! എങ്ങനുണ്ട് ? ഇനി പങ്കുണ്ടെന്നു അറിഞ്ഞാലും കണക്കുകളൊക്കെ ഉദ്ധരിച്ച് ന്യായീകരിക്കുന്ന ടീംസ് ഉണ്ട്. അത് വേറെ. അവരെ നമുക്ക് വിടാം. നന്നാവാൻ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാണ്. പക്ഷെ ഇടതുപക്ഷ മാഹാത്മ്യം വിളമ്പി വല്ല്യവർത്തമാനമൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു ആളുകളെ പറ്റിക്കുന്ന കുറെ സിനിമ-മീഡിയ-കല-സാംസ്കാരിക നായകരുണ്ട്. അവർക്കൊന്നും ഇപ്പൊ മിണ്ടാട്ടമില്ല.  എന്താല്ലേ! അവരെപ്പോഴും അങ്ങനെയാ. ആവിഷ്‌ക്കാര സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തെപ്പറ്റി ഘോര ഘോരം പ്രസംഗിക്കും. ലോകത്തെല്ലാവർക്കും ഉറപ്പുവരുത്താനുള്ള പ്രയത്‌നത്തിലുമാണ്.  അവർക്കെതിരെ ആരെങ്കിലും പറയുമ്പോൾ അസഹിഷ്ണുത കാണിക്കും എന്ന് മാത്രേ ഒള്ളു. ഒരുകൂട്ടർ മാത്രമല്ല ഉത്തരവാദികൾ. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ട്രെൻഡിങ്  ഹാഷ്ടാഗ് ഒന്നും ചേർക്കുന്നുമില്ല. ആര് ചെയ്താലും ഒരു പരിഷ്കൃത ജനാധിപത്യ സമൂഹത്തിനു യോജിച്ചതല്ല. എന്നാലും ചിലരൊക്കെ ഏതു രാഷ്ട്രീയ കൊലപാതകം നടന്നാലും അതിന്റെ ഒരറ്റത്ത് കാണും എന...

ഒരു വർഷം ആയിട്ടില്ല. പ്രളയദുരിതമൊക്കെ ഒന്ന് കെട്ടടങ്ങിയ സമയത്താണ് വിശാഖപട്ടണത്തുള്ള സുഹൃത്തിന്റെ വിവാഹം കൂടിയശേഷം നാട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള വരവിൽ ആദ്യമായി ചെന്നൈ നഗരത്തിലെത്തുന്നത്. ഉച്ചക്ക് രണ്ടരക്കുള്ള ട്രെയിനിൽ കയറുന്നത് വരെ നേരം കളയാൻ വേണ്ടിയാണ് ഞാൻ മറീന ബീച്ചിലേക്ക് പോകുന്നത്. തിരിച്ചു പുറത്തിറങ്ങി റോഡ് ക്രോസ്സ് ചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോഴാണ് ഒരു വനിതാ പോലീസ് വന്നിട്ട് പറയുന്നത്:  "Sir, Please wait for 5 minutes. Our CM is coming". ആർക്കും ദർശനം കിട്ടാത്ത ഒരു അവസ്ഥയിൽ എനിക്ക് സിദ്ദിച്ച ഭാഗ്യമോർത്തു ഞാൻ അങ്ങനെ നിന്നു. ഒരു 10-12 കാറുകൾ ഒന്നിന് പിറകെ ഒന്നായി പോകുന്നു. ചിലതിൽ വീഡിയോ ഷൂട്ട് ചെയുന്നു. ചിലതിൽ എന്തൊക്കെയോ സുരക്ഷാ ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ ഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
